Yay the Oilers are through to the finals! I'm so gonna claim credit if they win the Stanley Cup. You can't blame me - the last time they won was in the 80s.
Anyway this place is damn boring. Took us like 2hours max to explore downtown. Plus Chinatown was like a ghost town. If it weren't for the characteristic chinese gate I would have mistaken it for some abandoned industrial park. And they have orchard road, clarke quay, boat quay all rolled up into one avenue, which means you can prob see most of the happenings within an hr or so. Let's hope the historical park will be more exciting...

Damn. Should have had my trusty cup noodles today. This $10 lasagne that I had tasted no better than the $2 ones you get at school canteens. Gonna stay in tonight to do some work for once, while everyone else is prob watching hockey. But I'm so damn slack compared to WL I feel bad. And work's been just alright. Oh well. Maybe it's a stupid idea to be more pally with the stand in pharmacist than the boss's daughter.. but we'll see how things go.

It's weird (or maybe amazing) how I always get the slackest of deals. My pharmacist is on extended long weekend and I was told I could sleep in and go in late. As if the usual day isn't slack enough.. But with so much sleep I'm still feeling kinda tired. Maybe it's the effect of the giant sized (+ more potent) magarita I had over the hockey game last night. Haha. Like the other crazy Canadians I'm fast becoming a hockey fan... Nevermind that it's so fast sometimes I can barely figure where the puck is.
Anyway the Rocky Mountains was awesome! There're endless mountains, lakes, canyons etc that are beautiful beyond words. Some of the hikes were quite xiong but the scenery made it worth the while, though I probably disgraced Singapore by having the same fitness level as the 180pound grandma in my group? But anyhow.. I survived!

Contrary to popular belief, I'm surviving and coping with the life of a poor student - take-out meals, ironing, laundry, grocery shopping, walking everywhere etc. Plus nights have been spent on homework and reading up instead of roaming the streets. What's the use of having daylight till 9.30pm? Sigh.
Weather's been pretty horrid for the past 2 days. Must have been 28deg and above.. And to think I only brought long sleeves and all that thermal wear. Food kinda sucks too. Been having burgers, sandwiches, pizza and more burgers and sandwiches. How does any chinese survive here? I need my rice soon. Haven't got down to trying chinese take-out though. I mean we all know it's gonna be bad.. but it's just a matter of finding out how bad exactly. Other than that, yeah I'm enjoying myself with all the culture change.
Can't wait for my weekend tours. Then again, I wish I had more time here.. 1.5mths is just inadequate.
