The More Loving One
W H Auden
Looking up at the stars, I know quite well
That, for all they care, I can go to hell,
But on earth indifference is the least
We have to dread from man or beast.
How should we like it were stars to burn
With a passion for us we could not return?
If equal affection cannot be,
Let the more loving one be me.
Admirer as I think I am
Of stars that do not give a damn,
I cannot, now I see them, say
I missed one terribly all day.
Were all stars to disappear or die,
I should learn to look at an empty sky
And feel its total dark sublime,
Though this might take me a little time.

Note:
That's not a brick; neither is it a bar of soap..
It's tofu!!
Wanted to leave that post on for a long while.. 'cos I still haven't been able to look at a piece of tofu without thinking of SympathyForLadyVengeance. (Yes yes it's just me being overly absorbed with TV/movies.)
4+ hours of sleep, 2 tests and a long awaited work-out, freaking tired with aching legs and breaking back. Thinking of another self-declared break from school. Hah.. In my dreams.

"Revenge comes from a horrible wrong, something so horrible that who you are just dies. But you’re reborn for the purpose of getting revenge, and that rejuvenates you until you get your revenge — but now your reason for living has again died, and at the moment of your accomplishment you are dissolved as a person again."

Why am I into art films now? Beats me. Maybe 'cos I'm more mature and sophisticated in thought now. Hah..
~Let's all pretend that nothing happened.
If only it was that easy.

Q: How do two eccentric people manage to get along?
A: Maybe we never really did.
Too much of a good thing ain't good - excessive sleep brings out one's eccentricity. But I guess it ain't that bad being eccentric.. beats being one of the thousands of unhappy people in the world.

Earliest I've got home from school in months. But I'm not supposed to be online so much (lest I get nagged by T&N muahahaha) so I slept the entire afternoon away.
GOD is soo good. Very tempted to say that my hard work mugging all of yest paid off.. what naivety. He is the true source of miracles and the impossible. =)

"This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit,'
Says the Lord of hosts.
'Who are you, O great mountain?
Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain!
And he shall bring forth the capstone
With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"

There are days when life just passes you by as you go about on your everyday things. And others when you listen a lot, think a lot or feel a lot.
Being emotionally drained is when you've cried every tear in you out of sadness, or released every ounce of steam out of anger. It is also when you've been barraged with emotions of all sorts; emotions mostly indescribable.
Appreciating a film as an art for the first time - loving 99% of it when you discover the thought and effort put into every detail, from the setting to the costumes to the cinematography. Making sense of the smallest actions, the subtlest glances and glimpses, the symbolism, some of which perhaps the director never intended. Simply amazing.
Watching the beautiful crescent moon fade slowly behind the clouds right after it was caught on camera.
Getting mad at another's brashness or thoughtlessness in selling something of hers that you like.
Revisiting the feeling of remorse at 14 when you felt every right in scolding and nagging at your Mum for causing you to get your dream bag a few days late, only to crumble the moment she said Sorry.
..I don't think we were made to feel so much in a day.

Guess who came to town on Friday???

StanleyKwan has impressed me again with his latest film. (Though I must say CentreStage was much better.) He's so much better than WongKarWai.. at least to me. The head-banging scene was a classic man. So gonna watch the movie again. (and again, if I'm feeling rich)
Think I'm beginning to know the underlying reason for my reluctance to drive. For the 3rd time, I've dreamt the same dream... whereby I'm desperately stepping on the brake repeatedly but the car refuses to stop, and there's nothing I can do but watch helplessly as the front (or back) of my car crashes. Damn.
