Thou shalt be diligent.

"The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing.
But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich."
Proverbs 13:4

A wake-up call to all the lazy people out there. Took a nap at 9pm last night, hoping to wake up at 11 or so to study some bit. But I ended up waking at 8am today. A few pages of my notes is about the only progress I've made this morning. Test tomorrow and 3 deadlines on Friday. Argh.

Before I get started on studying proper, here're some picts..

Nov pulled one of the greatest bluffs on me!! But it was quite good.. 'cos I was totally caught unaware. OK actually I half guessed it.. 'cos at Clement's bday lunch Lucas told me his sister said tt Nov was coming back.. And I was actually feeling quite sad that Lucas came back for Clement's bday but Nov didn't come back for mine. Haha.. But of course I have none of such childish thoughts anymore, now that I'm 21. It really feels different.. adulthood. Hah. Yes yes. So my 21st turned out quite perfect after all. I got my Crumpler!! It's very not me - it's olive green.

My bday dinner was damn good. All my fave chinese restaurant kinda food - peking duck, buddha jump over the wall, shark's fin, abalone, almond cream, bird's nest egg tart. Haha I'm salivating just thinking of it now.

OKOK gotta wake up at 6 tomorrow. Blog another time..

Close to 3 and I'm still not sleepy... (though I'm sure I'd fall asleep immediately if I picked up my notes to study) Warming up my new earphones.. (as adviced by some audio buff) Titanium ergonomic earbuds with clear crisp sound. How cool is that!? I'm so very thankful for my thoughtful friends.. They say that 21st birthdays are the most memorable. I guess I couldn't agree more. (the truth is i'd expected it to be like any other birthday - like what's the big deal? age is just a number.) Love all the presents I've gotten so far.. And all the love and care I've received. And my bday's not even here yet.. Haha. I'm one super blessed kid. And what a great privilege for my bday to fall on easter sunday this year...

Can't wait for my laptop to arrive... And to carry it in my new crumpler laptop carrier... Wah just damn happy la. Now I'm thinking of getting another messenger bag from crumpler, a well-cushioned one specially for laptop, for times when I don't feel like lugging the laptop with my arm. What colour should I get?? Black? But my friend was saying why bother buying crumpler if I'm going for black. Then what? Olive green?

Will post some photos up soon... Nov what's your bro's hp no?? I'll have to contact him on Sun right?

Sadly, Morton's plans have been cancelled. Now it's dinner at Ah Yat. My decision actually, since my parents prefer chinese food. I love both steak and abalone so it's fine. Just that the ambience at Ah Yat leaves much to be desired..

Little else to blog about actually.. Shit. Saw this nice Burberry wallet but apparently Burberry finds its wallets too cheap to be showcased on the official website.

And I can't decide on which cake to get -- Secret Recipe chocolate banana (what about banana haters?), the Rive Gauche chocolate cake with nice biscuit crust, Lana chocolate cake (what if some find it too rich), or plain ol' Angie's Choice fruit cake/strawberry cake?

..Why oh why do I think so much about things?..

Rather eventful Friday. First and foremost, I'm eternally grateful to my lou yau, WEK, and my new friend, Miss Denyse, for wasting 3.5 precious hours helping me look for a bday present. OK actually I only feel bad about wasting Denyse's time 'cos WEK owes me for zhong se qing you-ing and playing me out at the last minute. But she's forgiven 'cos of the kenny roger's dinner. Haha.. Anything (almost) for a free meal or movie.

Anyway I wish I had a camera with me today - I experienced one of the most awkward moments in my life. WEK chose to treat us at kenny roger's so I was quite excited 'cos I recalled that my classmates were celebrating someone's bday there and I wanted to let them know about my new dream laptop that I discovered at the IT show. And seriously.. you should have seen the looks on all the faces of my classmates (about 15 of them) when they each looked up one by one as I was walking in. Damn paiseh la. Regretted walking in the moment I saw them. They were like 'oops. crashing the party ar?'.. 'oops. did she think she was invited?'.. HAHA. not that i mind, really. of course i didn't expect to be invited since i've barely conversed with the bday girl for more than 5 mins in the 2 yrs that we've been classmates. But it was just damn awkward la, throughout dinner, 'cos my table was directly facing theirs.

so much for my loser encounter.. seriously need to study for pharmaco test... why why am i so slack this sem?!

This post is for those with smelly or sweaty feet. Haha..

NIKE dri-fit socks totally rock!!! Was totally pissed 'cos I didn't check the price when I bought them with my cross-trainers and ended up paying 12 freaking bucks for them. (too paiseh to not purchase them after knowing the price at the cashier) Yes but now I think every they're worth every single penny that I paid for them! My feet are like totally dry when I come home from hours of walking around campus.

Haha ok that was wuliao. Just wanted to pass some time while waiting to bathe.

Tiff and Nov.... why why why aren't you two gonna be around for my 21st?? We could go Morton's or Lawry's! (you two treat me, that is. haha...)

This is delayed 'cos my friend took so long to pass me the photos. But check out my handball hero! He was sooo good that he got a few girls in class swooning over him after the tournament. Of course I was the first to fuss over him 'cos I saw him in action before everyone else during our training sessions. Then I started harping so much about him and his prowess that the guys thought I was crazy over him. (which is so not true.) But that's a likely reason why he's somewhat aloof around me now. Tsk.
But you can't blame me for being impressed. If only you saw how he hung in mid-air and floated into the middle of the semi-d, sometimes having enough time to swap the ball from one hand to the other, tricking the goalie and dropping the ball into the net.

There's no supposed fiery blog 'cos I vented most of my frustration and fury on crashing and racing cars in Burnout3. Here's the story anyway:

Should any of you come across a locum pharmacist working for Unity who resembles Ms Gong the physics teacher, please do me a kind favour by condemning her to the pit of hell or just give her as hard a time as you possibly could. To cut a short story long (with minimal specifics), I had this mini-project on some surgical care products so my groupmates and I hopped down to the pharmacy to check out what products were available. To our horror, the pharmacist asked us what that surgical procedure was exactly 'cos she couldn't remember and we said we were not very sure. So she glared at us and started searching online while finding out the trivia like which faculty we're from and what year we're in. And of course she looked a tad bit shocked that we were such indiligent pharmacy students who didn't bother doing any prior research. Which left us feeling quite guilty. Well. Not anymore.

Not after our teacher flashed a forwarded email she received about 3 Yr2 pharmacy students walking into the pharmacy to inquire about certain products for their project without doing any prior research. Of course magnanimous me would have taken it in my stride if the writer wrote out of concern over how students would learn more if they were more pro-active in their project work. But the email ended with 'I wonder if they ought to be praised of shot.' WHAT THE HELL!? If I oughta be shot, you oughta be clobbered on the head with a fire extinguisher. Don't get me started on the other ways of torture.

(In case you're wondering, we didn't really get into trouble 'cos my teacher specially emailed us to tell us that she won't be penalising us based on the email. But that's beside the point. I want justice! If she has to broadcast about our puny mistake, I want half of Singapore to know that she didn't even know what the surgical procedure was!)

Damn. I'm just rambling 'cos I'm not in a good mood. Biochem was horrid. No mood for anything. No mood for sleep. No mood for replying mails.
